Does a nice job at explaining the benefits applicable to everyone, not just early retiree hopefuls. Thanks

Many of the blogs don’t exist to impart knowledge onto others, but exist to sell affiliate products which supports the blog writer’s blogging job. Time and time again you will see the same re-hashed generic advice that doesn’t work in the real world, and it really reduces the credibility of the movement. Blogs should educate and encourage healthy challenging discussion.

At the end of the day, the FIRE movement is about being more mindful with your money: how you earn it, how you save it, how you invest it, and how you protect it. This time of crisis should spur everyone into wanting to be smarter about money (although preferably before disaster hits). We practiced the tenets of FIRE during the Great ’08 Recession (living frugally, continuing to invest, etc) without even realizing it, and those practices helped us get to FIRE in our 40s.
